Interconnection works between the Jaguarí and Atibainha dams
The project is aimed at guaranteeing secure access to water for the metropolitan region of São Paulo
It involved interconnecting the Atibainha dam (part of the PCJ River Basin, Cantareira System) to the Jaguari dam (part of the Paraíba do Sul Basin).
The work on the interconnection included:
- the laying of 13.4 km of steel pipelines,
- the construction of a tunnel 6.2 km long,
- the construction of a large pump station with a capacity of 5.13 m³/s.
